STA experts discuss how the reliability, availability and scalability of SAS and enhancements to SCSI protocols meet the needs of the data center of today and tomorrow

SAN FRANCISCO – October 20, 2014 — Serial Attached Storage (SAS) technology is the critical
storage interconnection fabric that rapidly became the storage interface of choice for servers and
external storage products. During several presentations scheduled at the 2014 Powering the Cloud
conference in the Messe Frankfurt Exhibition Centre October 28-29, leading storage industry experts
from the SCSI Trade Association (STA) will discuss how SAS is uniquely positioned to deliver the
Reliability, Accessibility and Serviceability required by the data center of today and tomorrow.

STA is also exhibiting at the conference in Stand H44 in partnership with SNIA Europe and the Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA), on Monday, October 28 from 8:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, October 29th, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Marty Czekalski, Interface Architecture Initiatives manager, Seagate Technology and President, STA and Greg McSorley, Technical Business Development Manager, Amphenol – High Speed Interconnect and Vice President, STA are scheduled to present the following:

  • Presentation Title: SAS: The Fabric for Storage Solutions
    Where: Storage Innovation Theatre
    When: Tuesday, October 28, 2:30 p.m. – 2:55 p.m.
  • Presentation Title: SAS: The Fabric for Storage Solutions
Where: Expert Theatre in Stand #H44
    When: Monday, October 28 and Wednesday, October 29, 11:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
  • Presentation Title: The Role of SAS in Scale-Out Storage Solutions
Where: Expert Theatre in Stand #H44
    When: Monday, October 28 and Wednesday, October 29, 11:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

“SAS is the backbone of nearly every enterprise storage deployment, rapidly evolving, adding new
features, enhanced capabilities and offering ‘no compromise’ system performance,” Czekalski said.
“SAS not only excels as a device level interface, its versatility, reliability and scalability have
made it the connectivity standard of choice for creating new Enterprise storage architectures.”
