San Francisco, February 16, 2004 — The SCSI Trade Association (STA) will be exhibiting at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF), an industry opportunity for technology and computing firms to exchange information and ideas. The conference will take place in San Francisco’s Moscone West Convention Center from February 17-19, 2004. In addition to exhibiting in booth # 647, STA is presenting a double session class and Harry Mason, President of the STA Board of Directors, will participate on the IDF storage panel from 6:30 to 8pm, Tuesday evening, February 17, at the Argent Hotel. STA will also participate in a SAS “Birds of a Feather” session on Thursday, February 19, from noon to 12:45pm at the Argent Hotel, Cornell Room.
STA’s class is on Wed., February 18, from 10 to 11:50am. Intel will introduce the class, which will include Small Form Factor Disks by Seagate, Cables and Connectors by Molex, System Chassis by HP and Enclosures by Adaptec. STA will show a static Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) demonstration in the booth, which will be staffed by STA member companies throughout the conference. Along with the demonstration, STA will have handouts available on SAS and SAS/Serial ATA (SATA) compatibility, plus a raffle.
At the STA booth, conference attendees will have an opportunity to sign up for the newly launched “Serial Storage Wire,” a monthly electronic newsletter to inform and educate the storage industry about SAS technology, applications and the positioning of SAS in the industry. The newsletter will support the introduction of new SAS products, which are entering the market and will be introduced throughout the year. It will accelerate SAS communications to member companies and their customers, channel customers, distributors, OEM’s, IT, end users and press and analysts.
“STA members are happy to provide the Serial Storage Wire newsletter as a valuable new source of SAS information to the industry,” stated Harry Mason, President of the STA Board of Directors and Director of Industry Marketing at LSI Logic. “We would like to have thousands of subscribers sign up to learn more about SAS and how it makes enterprise storage simpler and easier. February’s issue focus will be SAS and SATA compatibility. You won’t want to miss it.” Subscribers can sign up for the complimentary electronic newsletter with one click at: http://info.serialstoragewire.com/mk/get/AMER_STA_1203_REG?F_0=STAN&campaign=ST4& program=CO.
