Attendees will learn the value proposition of SAS and details on recent enhancements

SAN FRANCISCO – April 2, 2015 — Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) is the backbone of nearly every enterprise storage deployment and is rapidly evolving. New features such as Zoned Block Commands enable more efficient use of Shingled Magnetic Recording (SMR) for increased density in hard disk drives (HDDs) as well as potential capabilities for more efficient use of solid state disks (SSDs) in storage applications.

As part of the 2015 Data Storage Innovation Conference, Marty Czekalski, president of the SCSI Trade Association (STA), will provide attendees with the latest updates of SAS technology along with high performance use case examples in real-world environments.

Date: Tuesday, April 7, 2015
Time: 10:55am – 11:35am
Title: SAS: The Fabric for Storage Solutions
Speakers: Marty Czekalski, President, SCSI Trade Association, and Interface Architecture Initiatives Manager, Seagate Technology

“SAS continues to be the primary choice for storage systems designers seeking reliability, availability and scalability,” said Czekalski. “At the Data Storage Innovation Conference, useful updates and insights will be provided so that developers can make the best use of the latest improvements to SAS for new storage applications.”

About STA
The SCSI Trade Association (STA) was established in 1996 to provide a focal point for members to communicate the benefits of SCSI to the industry. STA promotes the understanding and use of Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) technology and influences the evolution of SCSI standards to meet future industry needs. The Association has a nine-member Board of Directors, which oversees the Marketing Communications and Technology Committees and all STA activities.
