Allows users to save and access high volume graphic/video files at 2.4GB/s bandwidth
City of Industry, CA – April 9, 2008 – Advanced Industrial Computer (AIC), an industry leading designer and manufacturer of rackmount server and data storage enclosure solutions, will introduce its revolutionary new MiniBOD – XJ-SA01-08-A1, as well as hold live demonstrations with ecosystem partners Seagate and ATTO Technology at the 2008 NAB show in Las Vegas, Nevada, from April 14-17, in booth SL9525.
The MiniBOD XJ-SA01-08-A1 offers the most high-performance, portable storage solution available for postproduction, video / graphic editing, mission-critical content development and management applications. With its lightweight and small-footprint design, the MiniBOD is highly portable, allowing users to save and access mission-critical files to eight (8x) Small Form Factor (SFF) 2.5-inch SAS/SATA drives. This powerful and compact storage device allows high IOPS storage reads and writes at up to 2.4GB/s bandwidth, supporting up to 1.2TB of storage. In addition, the MiniBOD offers plug and access, with the ability to connect to host servers of the same RAID configuration through the SFF8088 connector. Future enhancements to the MiniBOD will be available later this year, including embedded RAID functionality on the backplane and four conventional 3.5-inch hard drive configurations.
The live demonstrations at AIC’s booth feature the best of breed enterprise hard drives, Savvio™ SAS drives from Seagate, and high performance SAS RAID controller, R380 series from ATTO Technology. Attending NAB professionals can take advantage of the live demonstrations and witness the synergy of three storage technology leaders in the electronic media and broadcasting markets.
“This years NAB show is especially exciting for us, introducing our new MiniBOD”, said Gene Lee, Vice President of Advanced Industrial Computer, Inc. (AIC). “NAB always provides us with the focused opportunity to showcase our high performance, scalable, cost-effective solutions, ideally suited to meet the demands of storage professionals in the entertainment and broadcast industry.”
“NAB is an outstanding showcase for AIC, Seagate and ATTO Technology to demonstrate high performance, interoperable storage solutions for digital content creation customers.” said Ed Tierney, director of marketing at ATTO Technology. “SAS/SATA storage provides many answers for the exponential growth in storage requirements brought on by technologies such as HD and 2K and the streaming media requirements driving the broadcast and “on-demand” industries.”
